As someone who never wanted a bun instead of my gorgeous tresses breathing the air on her big day, I’m glad that individualism has taken over blindly following trends. 1. Get your hair trimmed a few weeks before the big day. Don’t experiment with hair colour or transformational haircuts during the run-up to your wedding as you don’t want any disappointments.
2. When you book your hair stylist, don’t just go by their established Instagram account. Apart from going through comments and online reviews, have a proper consultation with them to discuss your expectations. Exchange photos of the outfits, jewellery and the theme of your wedding. Nothing beats the good old word-of-mouth technique.
3. Jewellery shopping and your hairstyle are intrinsically linked with each other. You can’t finalise your jewellery first and then think of a hairstyle. Similarly, it can't be the other way round. Note that the jewellery includes head accessories too.
4. Consider the weather conditions in the city where your wedding will take place and make sure your hairstyle will brave the test of time and weather. Consult with the hairstylists in advance and enquire about the hairstyling tools and sprays that are in place. As exhausting as it sounds, a bride needs to appear photo-ready throughout the function.
